In our trip down the path of writing a romantic love letter I have implored you to find your self in the process; to find a part of you that is wiling to rise above the societal and stereotypical paths that you may have allowed yourself to follow.

Notice I said “Allowed” there.

You see, everything in your life you allow to a certain degree and the same goes for your perceived resistance to your ability to write your heart.

Now, I am not talking about the ability to become a world class writer, that is certainly not the intent, but the ability to write down your feelings for your partner in such a way that they are magical to them. That is the only thing that matters.

Face it, your partner would certainly know if your words were not genuine but they most always know the heart behind them.

So, after you have found your inner muse, you have found the place of joy and now are crafting your masterpiece. You want to make sure that you are wholly concentrated on your partner and not writing this letter as a means to an end.

Let me explain. If your soul purpose in writing the romantic love letter is to garner an emotion of some kind and are not real with your heart, it would be like eating nothing but the frosting from a cake. It may be great after the first bite, but after a while it is sickening. You get it? If all you say is syrupy stuff and dance around your heartfelt emotions, it is no better than the frosting on the cake.

At the heart of the romantic love letter is your heart. Many make the mistake of thinking that they have to be wordy. One of the most powerful speeches ever written, Abraham Lincoln’s, The Gettysburg Address, was only 246 words, and think of the staying power of that speech.

It is often been said that brevity is the soul of wit, and it certainly follows when you write your romantic love letter.

In a simply trashy reality show that airs on the E! Channel, called Tool Academy, we see young couples who have had their tool of a boyfriend perform various acts of cheating on their girlfriends.

The objective of the show is to get the so-called “Tools” to commit to their girlfriends and not cheat on them. The lady who is counseling them seems to see redeeming aspects of many of the tools and grants them fidelity badges week-after-week for not being total tools and cheat on their girlfriends until there is only one tool remaining, I am assuming.

I don’t know what the lady who is counseling them is thinking most of the time as these reprobates seem incapable of true love, but it is a competition. a reality show, to see who is the tool who can be the most redeemed.

The point is that many times I look at these guys and wonder why so many of the girls even desire to continue with them. I often think back to the old quote that says, “Youth, it is wasted on the young.” I suppose the same could be said about love, but where do we learn may of our hard lessons about love, but in youth.

I know if I could have had an hour with many of the tools, I could probably make a difference in their attitude on love, but that is another story for another day. The point here is that what is lacking with the tools was a real sense of communication in the ways of love. It seemed to be so physical with the spiritual component completely missing.

When writing a passionate love letter, after the appreciation is espoused, and the ways that appreciation is reflected back from the writer of the letter, the next step is the spiritual component.

What I am saying that is if you can’t find a sense of the divine in your relationship, you may need to reevaluate. There must be a spiritual connection that must be spelled out to your partner.

The spiritual component is what gives the letter depth and brings forth the emotion of the heart. The key here is to somehow connect to your own spiritual connection and then relate that in the best way you can.

The secret here is to be real and sincere in the way your passion for your partner is expressed. I strongly dissuade vulgarity in any form. Express yourself and your desires with a sense of chivalry and respect for all that your partner means to you and finish by saying, in your own words, that your passion is eternal, but that the moments of the now are the best expression of the passion in your relationship.

By following these steps I have presented, it should get you on the way to being a hero to your partner in the emotional arena.
