There seems to be a trend in love that seeks to take the honor that partners should feel towards one another and disregard it all together.

I am not talking about sex so much in that a relationship is based purely on that. No, I am talking about, that in spite of the physical attributes of a healthy relationship, the very notion of men and women seemingly disinterested in the very notion of honor and adoration for their partner. Maybe honor towards your partner is deemed old-fashioned in these enlightened times but, from what I can see, maybe we should get back to an old-fashioned look at the way we should honor each other in a relationship.

What is honor really? It is all about showing respect towards your partner.

Hey, we have all been guilty of dishonor in relationships, in fact guys use it as a tool many times to cause a break-up. Even if they have never understood the concept of honor in a relationship, they know enough to know that when they deliberately dishonor their partner, there will be tension. Women do it too, but it is usually not as obvious as men are supposedly not as in tune with their feelings and have no regard for being honored or dishonored in a relationship. That is a major fallacy, by the way.

Honor is such a pervasive emotion and really shows how you truly feel towards your partner. If you are prone to seek purely sexual gratification in a relationship, then there is no honor.

There must be another element of love that should work its way into your life of love. Honor feeds many other aspects of love in ways that show outwardly. Ultimately, in honor, there is life and a reverence for who your partner is to your heart.

Self-reflection is vital at this point, if you are capable, to determine if you are acting out of honor in your relationship or if the darkness of a pure base part of your soul is pushing you forward.

Honor comes down to self-respect and for your views on humanity at-large. A big statement, in this there is no doubt, but it is a statement of truth if you are honest with yourself.
