In the ebb and flow of many relationships, occasionally there are times where one or both partners must make amends for a carelessly said word or action that really needs to be dealt with. Writing an apology love letter is a time where hearts can be reunited in ways that sometimes is missed in the day-to-day existence of a love relationship.

Men, in many cases, have trouble enough with the mere aspect of writing a love letter, but I have found that, many times, they are more prone to jot down an “I’m sorry” to ease tensions. It is a funny dichotomy that some would struggle with what should be easy; the sharing of your heart with that which seems to be more of a struggle, the apology love letter.

Having said that, there seems to be a lot missing in the vain attempts to say “I am sorry”  in a meaningful way.

You see, there is a heart of appreciation that must accompany an apology that many seem to miss.

One might ask how can that be?

Let’s look at the “how and why” of an apology love letter to begin with. There is no doubt that this is fodder for many a late night comedian as they talk of ways men use an apology to stay out of the doghouse, as the old saying goes. It is more an instinctive action not something that is heartfelt. It is a glossy-over action that is designed to appease their partner enough for them to move on.

While the comedians usually are funny as they tell the stories of love, there is an element of truth in all great comedy. The truth here, in light of the comedians jokes, is that usually apologies are nothing more than attempts to get by and not really reasons to explore new dimensions of the relationships that need to be addressed usually form a personal level.

You see, you have to look within to be effective outwardly as a communicator of love.
